COMPANYXR MEDIA GROUP · TRUST & TRANSPARENCY

Universal Privacy Policy

For NewsXR.org and all affiliated websites owned or operated by CompanyXR Media Group
Policy version: October 15, 2026 | Effective upon publication

Our privacy commitment: We do not sell user data. We use email addresses for our own mailing lists and communications. This policy explains how information is handled across our websites and how to contact us about your privacy.

Our core commitment: We do not sell user data.

What is this Privacy Policy and what does it cover?

CompanyXR Media Group operates news publications, community platforms, and related websites, including NewsXR.org and MyBroome.com. This Universal Privacy Policy applies to all affiliated websites and services owned or operated by CompanyXR Media Group. Throughout this policy, “CompanyXR Media Group,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the organization operating those websites and services. The same policy applies across the group, regardless of which covered website you use.
This policy explains the information involved when you visit our websites, create an account, participate in a community, subscribe to a mailing list, or communicate with us. It also explains how information may be used, disclosed, retained, or deleted. Features differ between websites, so a description of a particular feature applies where that feature is offered and used. Independent services linked to or embedded within our websites have their own privacy practices, as explained below.

Who are our websites intended to serve?

Our intended audience is American citizens in the United States and its territories. We do not market to or actively seek audiences in other countries. We do not block visitors simply because they are located outside the United States or its territories. Access from another location does not change our intended audience or the commitments in this policy.

What information do we collect?

Highlights: Information depends on how you use a website. It can include information you provide directly and technical information processed by the software delivering the service.

Information you choose to provide

You may provide your name, email address, username, profile information, or account preferences when registering or communicating with us. You may also submit comments, posts, photographs, files, news tips, correspondence, or other material through available features. If you request a business service, the information involved may include contact details and records needed to handle that request. You should provide only the information relevant to the activity you are undertaking.

Technical information involved in website operation

Website software and hosting services may process information such as IP addresses, browser and device details, requested pages, timestamps, login events, and error records. Cookies and similar technologies may support sign-in, security, preferences, and other website functions. This processing can occur automatically without CompanyXR Media Group personnel personally viewing the underlying records. The information involved depends on the website, its software, and the features used.

Information received through other people or services

Other people may mention you in public posts, submit correspondence about you, or provide information relevant to reporting. Where a connected service is offered, it may provide information needed to complete the interaction you request. For example, a payment service may confirm a transaction, or an external sign-in service may supply information you authorize it to share. Those examples apply only when the relevant feature is available and used.

What if you do not provide certain information?

You may decline to supply optional information. Some activities require particular information, such as an email address to receive a mailing or recover an account. Without that information, the requested activity may not be available. Blocking cookies or similar browser storage may also affect sign-in and saved preferences.

How do we use your information?

Highlights: We use information to provide the services you use, communicate with you, operate our publications and communities, and address operational issues.

Information supplied to us may be used to maintain accounts, display submitted content, respond to correspondence, handle service requests, and administer business relationships. Email addresses are used for our own mailing lists and communications. Information submitted to the newsroom may be used to evaluate tips, communicate with sources, and prepare reporting. Relevant technical records may be used when necessary to troubleshoot problems, secure accounts, investigate misuse, or resolve a dispute.
The fact that software processes information does not mean our personnel routinely examine individual technical records. Our direct use of contact information includes the mailing lists and communications described in this policy. We do not sell user data or operate our websites as a business for trading users’ personal information. Access or use for support, security, correspondence, and other stated operational purposes is distinct from selling information.

How do we use email addresses and mailing lists?

We use email addresses for CompanyXR Media Group’s own mailing lists and communications, including communications from its affiliated publications and websites. These communications may concern our content, community activities, services, or company announcements. We do not sell email addresses or mailing lists to outside marketers. A service used to deliver our email may process addresses on our behalf as part of providing that service.
You may ask us to stop sending mailing-list communications by contacting privacy@companyxr.org. Where a message provides an unsubscribe option, you may use that option as well. Removing an address from a mailing list does not necessarily stop an account notice, a response to your inquiry, or a communication necessary to complete a transaction you requested. We may retain a limited record of an opt-out so that we can continue to honor it.

Do we sell user data?

Highlights: No. CompanyXR Media Group does not sell user data.

This commitment applies across NewsXR.org and all covered affiliated websites. It includes email addresses, mailing-list information, and other personal information entrusted to us. We do not sell such information to advertisers, data brokers, or other outside purchasers. Necessary processing by a service provider and disclosures described elsewhere in this policy serve their stated purposes and do not authorize the sale of user data.

What happens when you post or share information?

Highlights: Information posted publicly can be read, copied, and shared by others. Audience visibility depends on the feature and its settings.

A public comment, post, profile, or uploaded file may be visible to visitors and other members. Public material may also be indexed by search engines or copied to another website. A name, username, or other identifying information associated with the contribution may appear alongside it. Deleting a contribution from one location does not automatically remove copies retained by other people or services.
Where a website provides restricted spaces or messaging, access depends on the feature’s permissions and settings. A recipient can save, copy, or disclose information they receive. A restricted audience does not by itself establish end-to-end encryption or eliminate operational access by the systems delivering the service. Use the available audience controls and consider the material you are sharing before submitting it.

How do affiliated websites work together?

CompanyXR Media Group may administer its publications, mailing lists, correspondence, and related services through shared personnel or systems. Information may be used within the group for the purposes described in this policy, including responding to inquiries and providing our own communications. A common privacy policy does not mean that every website has a shared login or that every account is automatically connected. Any account or cross-site feature depends on the service actually offered.
Our no-sale commitment applies throughout the group. Information submitted through one affiliated site does not become a product for sale because another affiliated publication is involved. Communications and privacy requests should identify the relevant website so they can be directed appropriately. The central contact in this policy serves all covered websites.

When may information be disclosed outside CompanyXR Media Group?

Highlights: Information may be processed by providers needed to operate a service, disclosed at your direction, or handled for a legal or protective purpose.

Hosting, software, email-delivery, security, support, and transaction providers may process information necessary to deliver the services used on a particular website. We may also disclose information when you ask us to complete an interaction with another party. Public content is available to its audience as described above. Legal and protective disclosures are addressed in a separate section below.
If ownership of a covered business or website changes through a sale, merger, or reorganization, related records may be transferred as part of that business transaction, subject to applicable requirements and existing privacy commitments. That is distinct from selling a mailing list or user data as a standalone product. A change in business ownership does not create an unrestricted right to disregard this policy. Material changes to the handling of information will be addressed through the policy-update process.

How do cookies, embedded content, and external services affect privacy?

Cookies and similar technologies can support sign-in, session continuity, preferences, and security. The technologies present depend on the website and its active features. You can manage browser storage through your browser’s settings and use any additional controls offered by the website. Disabling required storage may prevent some features from working properly.
An embedded video, social-media post, map, external sign-in, or payment service may connect your device to another provider. That provider may receive technical information and apply its own cookies or account settings. A link to another website also takes you to a service with its own privacy practices. CompanyXR Media Group’s no-sale commitment describes our conduct; it does not replace the independent privacy policy of another provider.

How are news tips, source communications, and published reporting handled?

Information submitted to our newsroom may be reviewed to assess a tip, investigate a matter, contact a source, or prepare a story. Material relevant to reporting may become part of published coverage. Sending information does not, by itself, establish a confidentiality agreement or guarantee publication. If confidentiality is essential, establish the arrangement with the newsroom before submitting sensitive material.
Requests concerning an account and requests concerning published journalism involve different records. Closing an account does not automatically remove articles, public records, quotations, or other reporting that mentions a person. A request about reporting should identify the article and explain the concern so it can be assessed. We consider such requests in light of the circumstances, editorial responsibilities, and applicable requirements.

How can you access, correct, or delete your information?

Highlights: Send privacy requests to privacy@companyxr.org and identify the website involved.

You may contact us to request access to information, correction of inaccurate details, deletion of information or an account, or changes to mailing-list participation. Where a website offers account settings or other self-service controls, you may use those controls directly. Available rights and the outcome of a request depend on the records involved and applicable law. We may need to verify your identity or authority before disclosing personal information or changing an account.
Explain what you are requesting and provide enough information to locate the relevant account or correspondence. Do not send your password or unnecessary sensitive documents. If we cannot fulfill a request in whole or in part, we will explain the reason, subject to restrictions on what we may disclose. You may ask us to reconsider the response through the same privacy contact.

How long do we retain information?

Information is retained according to its purpose, the continuing operation of the relevant service, and applicable recordkeeping needs. Account records, mailing-list preferences, correspondence, technical logs, and published journalism may have different retention periods. We may retain relevant records to complete a requested service, resolve a dispute, address misuse, preserve evidence, or comply with an obligation. Published reporting and archives may remain available after an account is closed.
A deletion request does not necessarily result in immediate removal from every backup or from records subject to a preservation requirement. Copies held independently by other users or external services are outside our direct control. A limited record may also be necessary to honor an unsubscribe or other privacy preference. You may contact us about retention of a particular category of information or a specific record.

Where is information processed, and how is it protected?

NewsXR is headquartered in Binghamton, New York, and our intended audience is in the United States and its territories. Hosting and connected services may process information where their systems and personnel operate. Our audience focus is not a representation that every provider stores all information exclusively in the United States. This policy does not claim particular server locations or technical protections for services where those details differ.
Protection of information depends on the website’s software, hosting environment, account controls, and the safeguards used by relevant providers. No online service can guarantee that unauthorized access or every security failure will be prevented. Protect your credentials and report suspected account misuse through the available support channel or our privacy contact. Do not include your password in a report.

How do we respond to legal requests and protect our operations?

We may preserve, access, or disclose relevant information when required by applicable law or valid legal process. Where legally permitted and reasonably necessary, we may also do so to investigate fraud or security incidents, respond to a serious threat, address misuse, or establish, exercise, or defend our rights. The information involved will depend on the particular circumstances and purpose. A preservation obligation may require relevant records to be retained longer than usual.

What about information concerning children?

Parents or guardians who believe a child has submitted personal information that requires attention should contact privacy@companyxr.org and identify the website involved. We will assess the information and the request in light of the circumstances and applicable requirements. Any age requirements displayed for a particular account or feature also apply to that service. This policy does not authorize collection or use of children’s information contrary to applicable law.

Do privacy rights vary by location?

Depending on where you live and the laws applicable to the information, you may have rights relating to access, correction, deletion, copies of data, particular uses or disclosures, or review of a denied request. You may submit these requests through our central privacy contact. We will assess them under the requirements that apply to the relevant circumstances. Our intended American audience does not remove rights that applicable law otherwise provides.

How will you know this policy has changed?

We will publish revised policy language when the practices or commitments described here change. The version date will identify the updated document. For material changes, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by applicable law. The current universal policy is intended to be maintained consistently across all covered websites.
